The Western Maryland No.101 was originally built by the Presses Steel Car Company in 1942 as the No.28110. In 1965, the No.28110 was converted into WM safety instruction car No.101. Later in its career, the No.101 was converted for use in a wreck train in Cumberland, Maryland for the B&O and CSX Transportation. The WM renumbered the No.101 as the No.911564 in 1983. In 1994, the No.911564 was retired from service and donated to the B&O Railroad Museum by CSXT. While under the museum's care, the No.911564 has been re-identified as WM No.101 and has been used as part of maintenance of way train.

This car has been repainted and renumbered as the WM No.3051.
