The B&O No.7005 was built by the B&O shops in Washington, Indiana in 1960 as a 50-ton flatcar with a cushion cradle, which was used for handling a demountable trailer body. These demountable trailers were to serve in St. Louis market piggyback service while meeting tight clearances near Parkersburg. The No.7005 was last used to haul maintenance of way equipment. It was later renumbered as the No.XM-1987 when it was used in non-revenue service. The No.XM-1987 was renumbered into the Chessie maintenance system as the No.912874 when it was retired to the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum in 1995.

In 2016, B&O No. 7005 underwent a full cosmetic restoration. The car is still operational and used occasionally for track work.
