In 1926, the B&O built a crane boom idler car, No.X-1806, and placed it into service the very same year. The No.X-1806 was taken to the shops in 1952 to have AB brakes installed. The No.X-1806 was used with the Cumberland wreck train. The No.X-1806 was last used in service as CSXT No. 912828 and worked with the B&O No.X-215 diesel-powered crane. After the No.912828 was removed from service, it was donated to the B&O Railroad Museum. It has been repainted in its earlier paint scheme.
