Tickets on sale for Day Out With Thomas
Thomas the Tank Engine returns to the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore Friday - Sunday, April 24-26 & May 1-3, 2015. Beginning January 16, 2015 tickets go on-sale to the general public and B&O members. No purchase code required. Visit www.ticketweb.com/dowt or call 1-866-468-7630. Advance purchase recommended. Please note that everyone including B&O members will need to purchase a Day Out With Thomas ticket for admittance into the museum during this six day event. Coupons, vouchers, discounts, consignment tickets, complimentary passes, membership cards, etc. are not accepted during Day Out With Thomas.
Tickets on sale for Roundhouse Breakfast Buffet & Train Ride with the Easter Bunny
Beginning Monday, March 2
Purchase your tickets for a delicious breakfast buffet in the historic B&O Roundhouse with the Easter Bunny on Friday, April 3 or Saturday, April 4 from 8:30am - 9:30am. Enjoy a carousel ride and photo opportunities with the B&O Bunny. Then "All Aboard" for an exclusive train ride with the B&O Bunny for a special treat! Space is limited; advance purchase required. Toddler Time with Choo Choo Blue
Wednesday, March 4 & 18
Toddler Time is held at 10:30 a.m. on the first and third Wednesday of each month during the months of January, February, March, June, July, August, and September. Following are the dates it is held only once a month in 2015: April 15, May 20, and October 7. Halloween Toddler Time & Costume Parade is held October 28. Choo Choo Blue, the museum's mascot, makes a live appearance at this month's Toddler Time. Children listen to a classic railroad story, create a craft, enjoy playtime at Choo Choo Blue Kids Zone, and take a ride on the indoor train carousel – all included with paid admission. Recommended for ages 2-5. All children programs begin promptly on-time.
Historic Roundhouse Turntable Demonstrations
Saturday, March 7
Demonstrations begin at 11:30 a.m. & 1:30 p.m.
Ever wonder how locomotives and rail cars are moved in and out of the historic 1884 Roundhouse? Watch Museum staff operate the 60 foot wooden turntable to move an historic rail car.
B&O Restoration Shop Tour
Saturday, March 14
Take the 1:00 p.m. train ride for a behind-the-scenes tour of the Museum's state-of-the-art restoration facility constructed in 2005 to restore and maintain the museum's locomotive and rolling stock collection. This guided tour is an up-close and personal look at the shop including the machinery used in the restoration process and a peek at some of the "Iron Horses" currently being maintained and restored. Duration of the tour is 1.5 hours including the round-trip train ride. Space is limited to 25 people. Advance tickets are available by calling the Museum Store at 410-752-2490 x 213. With paid admission, this experience is $11 per person for ages 13 and up.
