Enjoy the museum's annual holiday celebration of toy trains and model railroading. New this year is a custom built 360 degree LEGO model train layout created by The Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area LEGO Train Club. This masterpiece made completely of LEGO toy pieces is interactive for children of all ages. There are push buttons along the sides that will activate lights, motors, and sounds. Other model exhibits featured at the Station will include a popular Thomas the Tank Engine G-scale layout, a small N-scale layout in the museum's telegraph office and a push button children's layout in the main waiting room.

Civil War 150th Anniversary
The War Came By Train

Ellicott City Station, America’s oldest railroad station, will host a satellite exhibit of The War Came by Train that will present living history demonstrations and exhibits highlighting the effect of the railroad during the Civil War on small town life, residents and troops that came through.
Maryland Zoo Members receive FREE admission to the B&O's Ellicott City Station!

During the months of January and February 2013, the B&O is granting the Maryland Zoo of Baltimore members free entrance into the B&O Railroad Museum Ellicott City Station with the presentation of their valid Zoo membership card and photo identification. Card holders with family memberships are allowed entrance for 2 adults and 2 children.
