The No.C-3808 was built by the International Car Company for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad in 1971. The No.C-3808 was painted blue with yellow lettering, in an effort by the Baltimore & Ohio and the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway (C&O) to combine their paint schemes. The No.C-3808 was one of the last cabooses built for the B&O as a new caboose and one of the last with the B&O capitol dome painted on it. It was also one of the first cabooses to be numbered in the new C&O/B&O numbering system. These cabooses were used on the main line in the B&O 13 state system.

The No.C-3808 is one of the few remaining class C-26 cabooses. In 1994, the No.C-3808 was found in Russell, Kentucky where it had been used for storage. That same year, the No.C-3808 was transferred to the B&O Railroad Museum by CSX Transportation.
