Host your family party at the Historic B&O Railroad Museum in the 1,200 sq. ft. Education Station, located in the backyard adjacent to the Roundhouse & Picnic Grove and right next to our Family Activity Area. It’s a perfect party location for children of all ages.
We offer 2 party times per day:
Saturday: 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Sunday: 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Price includes; 30 guests, a birthday party coordinator, tables, chairs admission to the museum campus, and train rides (when available).
Train Ride times are:
Saturday: 1:00 p.m. & 3:00 p.m.
Sunday: 12:30 p.m. & 2:30 p.m.
Member price: $225.00
Non-Member price: $275.00
A $5.00 per person charge applies if you have over 30 guests, maximum guest count is 80. Save money by purchasing a family membership, good for one year of free admission and train rides plus discounts to the B&O.
Rentals are accepted mid-January through mid-November. Train rides (if available) are offered April through November and weekends in January.
You may bring your own food, beverages, cake, paper products, and decorations. Paper goods and goody bags are also available through the B&O Museum Store.

The B&O Birthday Host will arrive at the Schroeder Street entrance where the party coordinator will open the gate to let you in the back lot for easy set up. Your guests will arrive at the front entrance area and will be greeted by our party coordinator at which time your guests will be escorted to the party room.

How do I reserve a birthday party?
You may email birthdayparty@borail.org or call 410-752-2462 ext 303 with your preferred date and time. A non-refundable payment of $50.00 and a signed contract are required to secure the date. The balance is due 3 weeks prior to your party.
How many hours do I have when I rent the Education Station for my party?
One and a half (1 ½) hours in the Education Station party room, but you and your guest may enjoy the Museum for the remainder of the day.
Are there train rides available during my party time?
Train rides are available for the use of Birthday Parties, Wednesday through Sunday, April until Mid-November and weekends only in January. Train rides times are as follows: Saturday, 1:00 & 3:00 and Sunday 12:30 & 2:30. You must be cleaned up and out of the room by your scheduled train ride time so another group may set up. You and your guests are welcome to enjoy the Museum campus until closing time. The group may not be in the same train car; however, we will do our best to accommodate the group on one timed ride. Train rides are not guaranteed in the event of inclement weather or equipment malfunctions.
How many guests may I have attending the party?
The price includes 30 guests. The cost is $5.00 per person over 30, maximum number of guests is 80. This includes ALL children and adults. Children under 2 are free. If additional guests arrive the day of your party, the fee may be paid with cash or credit card to party coordinator.
May I bring my own food and drink?
Yes, you may bring your own food, beverages, cake, paper products, and decorations. No ice cream nor balloons are permited.
The B&O will supply three 8 ft. banquet tables for your food and gift set up, 60 inch round tables, and chairs for your guests to be seated. Each table can seat up to eight guests. You are welcome to bring your own table cloths for table set up.

What about a birthday cake and decorations?
You may bring your own specialty birthday cake and decorations. NO ice cream cakes, helium balloons, or confetti of any kind. Should you prepare goody bags, we kindly ask that you give goody bags out at the end of your party. We do not allow any food or beverages in any other areas of the Museum. Paper products and goody bags are also available through the Museum Store.
Where do I come to set up my party?
We have a back entrance area located off Schroeder & Pratt Streets. A party coordinator will meet you at a pre-designated time at the Schroeder Street gate and show you where to park and unload next to the Education Station. We have several trash cans located throughout the room for your clean up convenience. We will charge a clean up and damage fee of $75.00 should the room be left in an unacceptable manner.
Where do the guests arrive?
Your guests should arrive at the front admission area located at 901 W. Pratt Street, Baltimore, MD 21223. Your guests will be greeted by the party coordinator and escorted to the Education Station.
