(Museum closed Christmas Eve & Day and New Year’s Day)

Friday, November 27 at 10:30 a.m. Santa arrives by locomotive into the Roundhouse.  Visits and photo opportunities with Santa on this day are between the hours of 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Weekends through December 20:
*Weekend train rides with Santa or Frosty the Snowman!
* Photo opportunities with Santa or Frosty the Snowman!

*Families may decorate train ornaments at craft tables inside the Roundhouse.
*Santa’s Secret Shop is “hidden” inside the Museum where children may purchase inexpensive gifts for their loved ones.
*Choral groups perform holiday favorites

After Santa returns to the North Pole, train rides continue on weekends with Frosty the Snowman. Wednesday through Friday train rides are at 11:30 am. On weekends and the week after Christmas train ride times are every hour on the hour.
(please note that train rides are subject to change or cancellation and are not guaranteed with your visit)

 Model Railroad Exhibitors whose creations will be on display throughout the festival:
            November 27 – 29: Washington DC Metropolitan Area LEGO Train Club
            November 27 – January 10: M.T.H. Electric Trains (O-scale model)
            December 3 - 6: Baltimore Area American Flyer Club (S-scale model)
            December 12 - 13: Western Maryland Historical Society (HO-scale model)
            December 19 – January 3: Baltimore Area NTRAK Club (N-scale model)
            December 26 – January 3: National Capital Trackers (O-scale model)
            January 9 & 10: Japan Rail Modelers of Washington, D.C.  (N-scale model)
Plus the Museum’s permanent HO model layout inside the C&O #725 passenger car and the G-scale, outdoor garden layout.
