If you are unable to make an appointment to use the library or are not a local researcher you may make a research request via mail, email, or fax. Inquiries must be clearly stated and include contact information and phone number. All fees for research or reproduction must be paid in order for staff to process your request.

While the Hays T. Watkins Research Library contains information useful to researchers, it is not the only place to find railroad history information. Many simple questions relating to the B&O are available by consulting your local library for books relating to the history of American railroading and the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad.
