B&O Railroad Museum Hosts First-Ever Community Halloween Celebration in Historic Roundhouse  

BALTIMORE, MD – The B&O Railroad Museum is thrilled to announce its first-ever community Halloween celebration, Trick or Treat with Trains!, welcoming families for a safe, fun-filled evening of spook-tacular festivities in the Museum’s iconic historic Roundhouse on Friday, October 31, from 5:30-7:30 pm.  

Children ages 13 and under are invited to trick-or-treat among the trains, fill their bags with top-tier candy, participate in a frightfully fun costume contest with exciting prizes, get hands-on with Halloween crafts, and take on a spooky scavenger hunt! 

“We’re so excited to open our doors for this brand-new community Halloween event,” said Kris Hoellen, Executive Director of the B&O Railroad Museum. “The Museum is more than a place to learn about history—it’s a place where families can come together, celebrate traditions, and create new memories. We’re thrilled to welcome ghosts, goblins, and ghouls of all ages for what we hope becomes a new fall favorite.”  

Children can show off their Halloween style in two age-grouped costume contests for a chance to win exciting prizes: 

 Ages 8–13 Costume Contest 

  • 1st Prize: 4 Bronze tickets to THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride 
  • 2nd Prize: Be a Conductor for a Day 
  • 3rd Prize: LEGO® Set 

Ages 0–7 Costume Contest 

  • 1st Prize: 4 Bronze tickets to THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride 
  • 2nd Prize: Swag bag of Thomas the Train™ merchandise 
  • 3rd Prize: $25 Gift Card to the B&O Gift Shop 

Please note: This event is designed for children 13 and under. Families should bring their own trick-or-treat bag. 

Tickets are $5 per person, or $1 with snap/EBT card and can be purchased in advance at borail.org. This event is entirely free for members of the Museum. The B&O Railroad Museum is located at 901 W. Pratt Street, Baltimore, MD. The Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days a week. Free, secure parking is available on site.

This was such an awesome experience! The trains inside were phenomenal and all very well kept. But we went ahead and did the train ride also and that was just icing on the cake! This is a great experience for kids, teens, and adults like myself.
