Join us this summer for the B&O’s Community Days!
On select Thursdays this summer (July 21, August 25, and September 29), we’re open late and offering FREE admission from 3-8 PM so that railfans and community members alike can enjoy all the tours and activities the B&O has to offer.
Our Chief Curator Jon Goldman will be giving our new tour, The Cool Factor, at 3:30 PM that examines 200 years of art and design history through locomotive design followed by an artist talk at 4 PM discussing the B&O Street Art Project with the caboose displayed on the turntable – an exhibit in which local street artists designed murals centered around the theme of connectedness and painted them onto a caboose here at the Museum.
There will also be the B&O Farmers Market, from 4:30 – 7:30 PM in the front parking lot, where visitors can grab dinner and drinks and enjoy homemade goods, fresh produce, and local vendors selling everything from poultry and produce to candles and coffee. A kids art project will be available in which they’ll be able to make their own freedom quilts using stamps of the Underground Railroad symbols.
