The performance will begin in our North Car Shop where you will be invited onto the Polar Express to travel to the North Pole! Once on the Polar Express, the classic Christmas tale will be performed and little ones will have the opportunity to meet Santa and receive their first gift of Christmas! Santa’s helpers will greet you upon arrival to the North Pole, where you can take pictures with Santa and have lots of holiday fun.

What to expect on THE POLAR EXPRESS

After you arrive in your pajamas as a family, you’ll convene in our historic North Car Shop to dance with the DJ and join in fun holiday activities for kids. Then, the first act of this immersive performance will begin!

Visitors will be invited to enter the story as they board The Polar Express for a Christmas adventure unlike any other. The conductor will punch your golden tickets, the chefs will dance and sing, the hobo will offer his special brand of wisdom, and The Polar Express book will be read aloud for all passengers. Then, it won’t be long until you arrive at The North Pole, but not before Santa has given a silver sleigh bell to each passenger as the cherished first gift of Christmas. Upon arrival, passengers will also receive a take-home hot chocolate kit and cookies in a Polar Express tote bag. Gold and Silver Class passengers will also receive special mugs! Then, it’s time for your visit to the North Pole, located in the B&O’s spacious Roundhouse. As you enter, you’ll see the North Pole’s iconic toy factory and clock tower and be greeted by dancing elves. Then, visitors are free to explore the North Pole, where they’ll find Santa’s Winter Village with crafts for kids, an array of model railroad layouts, opportunities for photos with Santa, and more! 

Your complete Polar Express experience is approximately 90 minutes, but visitors are encouraged to stick around to celebrate, play, and explore the birthplace of American railroading.

Ride in a comfortable heated vintage rail car with plenty of space. All passengers receive a golden ticket and silver sleigh bell . Gold Class passengers will receive a Polar Express tote bag with a holiday mug, cookie, and custom branded Polar Express hot chocolate! Please note this car is not handicap accessible.

Silver ClassLIMITED AVAILABILITY
Ride in a comfortable heated rail car with quad seating for groups of four for ages 2 and up. All passengers receive a golden ticket and silver sleigh bell. Silver Class passengers will receive a Polar Express tote bag with a holiday mug, cookie, and custom branded Polar Express hot chocolate! Please note this car is not handicap accessible.

Bronze ClassLIMITED AVAILABILITY
Ride in a comfortable heated rail car featuring standard two by two seating with an aisle in-between. All passengers receive a golden ticket and silver sleigh bell. Bronze Class passengers will receive a Polar Express tote bag, cookie, and custom branded Polar Express hot chocolate! Please note this car is not handicap accessible.

Note: Doors open at the showtime printed on your ticket. The show will start 30 minutes after doors open. For example, if your ticket has a 1:00 PM start time, the show will begin at 1:30. If you arrive before the time on your ticket, the doors will not be open.
