Child's Birthday Party

The B&O Railroad Museum offers two rental facilities for children's birthday parties - the Education Station and Buxton Rail Car . 

Party Information

• Weekend Rental Sessions:
  • Saturday: 11:30 a.m. to  1:00 p.m.  & 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m
  • Sunday:   11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. & 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
• Rentals are accepted year round (some blackout dates apply).
• Train Rides (when available) are offered April through December and weekends in January.
• Weekend Train Ride Times:
  • Saturday: 1:00 p.m. & 3:00 p.m.
  • Sunday: 12:30 p.m. & 2:30 p.m.
• You may bring your own food, beverages, cake, paper products, and decorations. Paper products and goody bags are also available through the B&O Museum store, click Birthday Party Supplies to see an overview.

Education Station
(The base rental rate includes birthday host and train rides when available.)

Host your family party at the Historic B&O Railroad Museum in the 1,200 sq. ft. Education Station, located in the backyard adjacent to the Roundhouse & Picnic Grove and right next to our Family Activity Area. It’s a perfect party location for children of all ages.

Buxton Rail Car
(The base rental rate includes birthday host and train rides when available.)

Host your birthday party inside an historic rail car! The Buxton, a 48 seat coach, was originally built in 1939 for the Florida East Coast Railroad. Located on Platform 2, directly outside Bay 11 of the Roundhouse, the Buxton is a unique location for a children's party .

B&O Rentals:

Choo Choo Blueville (an electric carnival type train ride) Tickets are $1 per child per ride or you may purchase unlimited rides for the entire day of the party for only $5 per child.   Tickets may be purchased in advance or the day of the party.

Train Carousel (B & O Merry go Round) Tickets are $2 per person per ride or you may purchase unlimited rides for the entire day of the party for only $5 per person.  Children under the age of 2 ride free with a paying adult.  Tickets may be purchased in advance or the day of the party.

Spin Art is available at a cost of $75.00 for 1-30 paintings, $125.00 for 31-60 paintings
Fun Package includes coloring sheets/crayons, tattoos, stickers, and the Thomas the Tank Pin the Number game for $60.00.

All activities include a staff member to assist with the activity.
