As a cultural and educational asset to the state of Maryland and the nation, the museum intends to make our history fun, engaging, and accessible for all students. We offer in-person field trips, virtual field trips, online exhibitions, resources, and accommodations to ensure all students get to experience the past, present and future of railroading!
As a State Aided Educational Institution (SAI) with the Maryland State Department of Education, we can offer many schools in the state of Maryland access to free or reduced pricing for in-person and virtual field trips.
We take your health and safety seriously.
As the needs of your students change, we are committed to delivering many of our programs in an in-person or virtual setting. Your field trip can be rescheduled or exchanged between an in-person or virtual experience to best meet the needs of your students. Many of our resources can be accessed from the classroom or at home here on our website or through a virtual meeting platform.
Education at the B&O
Bring history to life and then bring it back to the classroom with the B&O Railroad Museum’s onsite field trips.
We welcome homeschool groups to visit the museum and register for a curated field trip program.
