Bratislava Meets Baltimore: International Gaming Giant Pixel Federation Partners with B&O Railroad Museum to Celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary
Slovak-Based Company with 80 Million Players Worldwide Brings “Save The Rails” Campaign and Live Demo to Baltimore on July 4th
Baltimore, MD — June 24, 2026— In a transatlantic collaboration that brings train-loving communities together from around the world, Slovak-based gaming company Pixel Federation will partner with the B&O Railroad Museum for the next chapter in its “Save the Rails” initiative. Save the Rails connects the 80 million players of its TrainStation game franchise with real-world railway preservation efforts. The partnership arrives just in time for America’s 250th Independence Day celebration and will be showcased live at the museum on July 4th.
This season’s Save The Rails campaign centers on the legendary American Freedom Train No. 1, a locomotive that pulled the American Freedom Train for America’s Bicentennial celebrations in 1976 that recently has been cosmetically restored and is now on permanent display at the B&O Railroad Museum.
Pixel Federation’s artists digitally recreated the AFT No. 1 in meticulous detail for the TrainStation games, allowing players around the world to add an authentic in-game version of this iconic American locomotive to their collections permanently. When they do so, a contribution will be made to the museum.
“The B&O Railroad Museum is both excited and proud to partner with Pixel Federation,” said Executive Director Kris Hoellen. “This partnership demonstrates again the universal love of trains globally. We thank Pixel Federation for helping us to celebrate America 250 and the 200th Anniversary of American railroading in 2027. Everyone is invited to come on site this July 4th and demo TrainStation 2&3 and to meet Pixel Federation! ,” said Kris Hoellen, Executive Director of the B&O Railroad Museum.
“For Pixel Federation, Save The Rails has always been about more than gaming, it’s about real impact for real railway heritage,” said Katarina Zacharova, Public Relations Manager at Pixel Federation. “Partnering with the B&O Railroad Museum for America’s 250th is a milestone for our community. From Bratislava to Baltimore, our players are united by a shared passion for trains and history, and we are honored to channel that passion into preserving one of America’s most important railway legacies.”
