The PM No. 11 “Pere Marquette” was one of nine locomotives heavily damaged by the Roundhouse roof collapse on Feb. 17, 2003.

The “Pere Marquette” was restored in 2004 and is currently on display at Platform 1 at the Museum.

The B&O Railroad Museum’s 40-acre historic site, called Mt. Clare, is a National Historic Landmark and is the original site where the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad founded America’s first commercial railroad in 1827.

The roundhouse was my favorite part, because it gives a true feel for what goes on in a roundhouse—the cars are stationary, but seeing the actual tracks is eye-opening.
