B&O No. 57 "Memnon" | B&O Railroad Museum

The B&O No. 57 “Memnon” was one of nine locomotives heavily damaged by the Roundhouse roof collapse on Feb. 17, 2003.

The “Memnon” was restored in February 2008.

Historic Site

The B&O Railroad Museum’s 40-acre historic site, called Mt. Clare, is a National Historic Landmark and is the original site where the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad founded America’s first commercial railroad in 1827.

My family had a wonderful time in this museum! It’s the perfect balance of visually appealing and interactive for my boys (ages 5 & 8). We would definitely go again!
