Spend your Spring Break exploring the B&O!

We will have 3 exciting scavenger hunts for young explorers: the Bank of America Model Train Gallery Scavenger Hunt, Maryland History Scavenger Hunt, and the Underground Railroad Scavenger Hunt.

Scavenger hunts will be available at the information desk in the Roundhouse.

In this workshop, kids will learn about the connection between Samuel Morse’s telegraph and the B&O.

From Slavery to Civil Rights: The African American Railroading Legacy Tour

On this tour, we will learn about the legacy of African Americans on the railroad.

Underground Railroad Monoprint Workshop

Tuesday, February 17, 2026 @ 10 am

In this workshop, kids will first learn about the significance and connection the Underground Railroad had in Maryland via the B&O Railroad.

Friday, March 20, 2026 @ 10:30 am-11:30 am

In this workshop, participants use the engineering process to design and build a car out of LEGOs.

The Underground Railroad exhibit particularly made an impression. You can learn about the enslaved people who passed through Mount Clare Station as their last stop before reaching the northern states. Sobering and inspiring stories.
