The modern refrigerated Cryo-Trans freight car contains an exhibit on the history of refrigerated transport on U.S. railroads from 1842 through today. The exhibition details early iterations of refrigerated transport and covers many of the major advancements and developments, such as the Fruit-Growers Express (FGEX) from 1920-1980. See models and objects from the history of refrigerated transport and take a break to watch an informative video covering the mechanics of the American refrigeration car. This car spent much of its life transporting frozen McDonalds french fries!

Exhibit was made with support by Cryo-Trans, Inc. and the North American Railway foundation
